Subscription & Connection Help

First identify whether the issue concerns your account, device, route, or order, then follow the relevant steps.

Expand an answer to read it. For your first setup, start with the guide; for the full walkthrough, see From Beginner to Advanced.

Account & Subscriptions

Keep your login details secure, then make sure the subscription on your device belongs to the account you're using.

Do I need an email address to create an account? How should I protect my login details?

No email address is required. Create an account with a username and password by following the instructions in the user panel, then store both securely. A password manager is a good choice. Avoid saving your password or subscription link in public notes or group chats. Since an email address isn't required, don't assume email recovery is available. If you forget your login details, use the help option currently available in the panel and follow its verification process. Keep existing sessions active on devices where you're already signed in; repeatedly signing out or clearing browser data can make troubleshooting harder.

Do I need to choose a new plan when I switch devices? Can I connect multiple devices at once?

There is no limit on the number of devices that can be connected at once. To switch computers or use another device, sign in to the same account on the new device, get a client for that platform, then retrieve and import your subscription from the user panel. You don't need to choose a new plan just because you changed devices. Check that your account's plan or data package is still active on the new device; unlimited devices doesn't mean unlimited data. Before handing over an old device, sign out and remove its local subscription configuration. Don't share your account password as a way to share the client, and avoid staying signed in on public devices.

How do I update my subscription link? What if the client list doesn't change?

Sign in to the user panel and check your current subscription status. Then find the relevant entry in your client's subscription or configuration settings and select the update option. Switching routes alone usually won't refresh the list. If the update fails, first check whether the device can reach the user panel, then confirm that the subscription URL saved in the client matches the one currently shown in the panel. If you need to import it again, identify the old and new configurations by name. Delete the old one only after confirming the new configuration works, so you don't remove the wrong entry. Your subscription link is account access information; don't post the full URL publicly while troubleshooting.

Where can I get the client? Which platforms are supported?

Supported platforms: Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux. Find client downloads in the user panel; sign in to retrieve your subscription as well. After signing in, you can get clients for Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux. iOS access depends on the current instructions in the panel and requires an active plan. In the download section, check your operating system and device type before installing and importing your subscription. Don't download installers from search results with lookalike names or overwrite your current account's configuration with one from another account. See the guides for setup instructions.

Connection Issues

Troubleshoot in this order: local network, subscription status, client settings, then the destination service.

The client says the connection failed. Where should I start troubleshooting?

Disconnect the client first, then make sure the device can access the internet on its own. Check your plan status and remaining data in the user panel. Next, update your subscription and try a route in another region; also make sure your system allows the client to establish network connections. If other proxy or network management tools are running on the device, pause any that might conflict and test the VPNWake client on its own. Change one setting at a time, and note the error message and steps that trigger it. Reinstalling repeatedly can erase settings and make it harder to identify where the problem started.

Why does my browser work, but a particular app won't use the proxy?

If your browser works, that only confirms that the browser's current network path is working; it doesn't mean every app uses the same path. Check the client's proxy mode and routing rules to see whether the app or its domain is set to connect directly. Then check whether the app has its own proxy settings or is still using an older session established before the connection. Save your current settings, switch to an appropriate traffic-capture mode as described by the client, then fully quit and reopen the app. If the issue persists, note the app name, operating system, and error message, and submit a support ticket for further troubleshooting.

How can I check that my apparent exit location matches the route I'm using?

Open an IP check page to see the apparent exit information for your browser, then visit the website or app you actually need to use. Interpret the result alongside the region selected in the client, its proxy mode, and its routing rules. If the rules send the check request directly, the result may show your local network's exit instead. A browser check also can't verify how another app connects. If a website still shows your old region, sign out of its existing session and check your account region and the site's own regional settings. Don't judge whether the route is working by the page language alone.

What information should I include in a support ticket about a connection issue?

Submit a ticket through the user panel and include your platform, client, selected region, affected service, and troubleshooting steps you've already tried. Include the full error message if possible, and say whether all traffic is affected or only a particular app. Note any differences after changing networks or routes. Before sharing screenshots, hide sensitive information such as your account password, full subscription URL, and payment details. Describing what changed before and after the issue is more useful than simply saying the connection doesn't work. If you have an update, add it to the existing ticket.

Speed & Routes

Compare routes using real tasks, and distinguish a successful connection from access to the service you want.

Which regions do the routes cover, and how should I choose one?

Coverage includes 110+ countries / 150+ routes. Start with the region required by the service you want to use, then compare actual results rather than choosing by distance alone. For everyday use, try an available region from the route list. If a service has regional requirements, check its account and region policies first. After connecting, test a real task, such as loading a page, streaming video, or using a tool, and keep the route if it suits your needs. Route names and availability are shown in your current subscription list. Coverage figures don't mean every region is suitable for every use case.

What can I do about slowdowns during peak hours? Do I need a more expensive plan?

First distinguish between congestion on your local network, background activity on your device, and the performance of your selected route. Pause large file transfers, check whether other devices are using the same network, then compare routes while doing the same task. If possible, also test on a different local network. Keep the website and client mode consistent during testing so you don't change several variables at once. Monthly plans differ by data allowance; price alone doesn't tell you whether a route will be faster. If the issue persists, note when it happens, the region, and the affected service, then report it through a support ticket.

Why might video or AI tools still be unavailable after switching regions?

A service may check your network exit, account region, session status, and eligibility. A working connection doesn't guarantee that the service will allow your account to use it, nor does it guarantee a particular access result. First check whether ordinary websites load, then review the message shown by the service. If the issue concerns account eligibility or regional policies, follow the service's guidance. When testing another route, keep your account session and client settings traceable, and avoid switching regions repeatedly while working. See the access support page for notes on video and AI tools; actual results may vary.

What's the difference between relayed, direct, and dedicated routes? Which type does VPNWake use?

These terms describe network paths or how traffic is carried; they aren't a speed ranking. A direct route generally avoids additional relay nodes, while a relayed route passes through intermediate nodes. A dedicated route involves specific network transport arrangements. Your experience also depends on your local network, the destination service, and current link conditions. Check the route list and current information in the VPNWake user panel for the types of routes available. General terms aren't a promise that every VPNWake route has a particular configuration. Choose based on region and use case, then test your actual task rather than relying on labels alone.

Billing & Refunds

Monthly plan data resets on your plan's start date. Data packages last until used and never expire.

How much do monthly plans cost, and when does data reset?

Monthly plans: ¥9.9/month for 60GB · ¥18/month for 250GB · ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on the date your plan started, not at the beginning of the calendar month. Estimate your needs based on how you use your devices; streaming, large downloads, and always-on tasks consume different amounts of data. Check the user panel for your remaining data and next reset date. Monthly plan data isn't unlimited. Unlimited simultaneous devices doesn't change the data allowance on your plan.

How are data packages charged? Do they reset monthly?

Data packages: ¥158 for 300GB · ¥358 for 1000GB · ¥658 for 3000GB. Data lasts until used and never expires. Unlike monthly plans, which reset data each month on the plan's start date, data packages suit usage based on actual consumption. Consider how consistently you need access and whether your data needs are predictable, then compare a monthly plan with a data package. A data package doesn't issue the same allowance again each month. If your account already has another plan, check the active items and order details in the user panel before making changes. Don't assume how data is deducted across different plans.

What happens to the price difference if I upgrade my plan mid-cycle?

When you upgrade a monthly plan mid-cycle, the price difference is prorated against the remaining days. Before proceeding, check your current plan in the user panel, select the target tier, and review the price and activation details shown on the order. Don't assume that subtracting the listed prices gives the amount you'll pay, or that an upgrade restarts billing at the beginning of a calendar month. If the order details differ from what you expect, save the information shown and ask through a support ticket before proceeding. Data packages follow different rules from monthly plans, so don't apply the monthly upgrade rules to a data package.

Which payment methods are supported? What should I do if my order doesn't update after payment?

Supported payment methods: Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT. Create an order in the user panel and follow the payment instructions and recipient details shown for that order. If the order status hasn't updated after payment, check the matching item in your order list and confirm that the payment went through. Don't create and pay for duplicate orders just because the page hasn't changed. If you still need help, submit a ticket with the order details and redacted payment proof, and describe the payment method and message shown on the page. Don't share full payment details in public chats or comments, and don't use payment details from another order or forwarded by someone else instead of those shown on your current order.

How do I request a refund, and what information should I keep after submitting the request?

VPNWake offers a 60-day money-back guarantee. To request a refund, sign in to the user panel, explain your request through the support ticket system, and provide the relevant order details. See the Terms of Service for the full policy. Before submitting, check that the order matches your account, and keep the order status and ticket history from the panel so you can follow up. You don't need to troubleshoot connection issues before requesting a refund. Never post your account password or full subscription URL publicly. Follow the ticket response and Terms of Service for the process; a page refresh alone doesn't confirm that a refund is complete.
